Providing Your Child with the Special Care & Support Your Family Deserves
G&D Therapy Services and Schoolhouse are passionate about meeting the special needs of children with developmental delays in Sullivan County, New York, and the surrounding counties.
Our programs are unique as we offer a variety of research-based early intervention services.
Our Goals
G&D started with your child’s needs in mind.
Through the continued expansion and development of our programs and services, we have identified the following goals:
Work directly with children in our program to develop essential life skills in areas of communication, social-emotional, cognitive, self-help, and motor development.
Educate families on their child's unique needs and how to support them in all areas of their lives.
Help children and their families develop a network of support with other families with similar experiences.
Support all staff to be successful in the classroom by encouraging continuing education, discussion of ideas, and the ability to try new activities in educating their students.
Work to bring more education and understanding to the larger community about children with developmental disabilities.
Utilize a more naturalistic approach to helping students engage in learning.
Who We Are
Gelsomino & Davis Speech, Occupational, and Physical Therapy Services (G&D Therapy) was started by Gelardina Gelsomino and Elizabeth Davis in April 2017.
As a speech-language pathologist and an occupational therapist, these two women came together to create a new way of providing services in Sullivan County.
Their work started in homes and community locations, including schools and daycare centers; however, as their agency grew, they looked at new ways to provide more services to the community.
G&D has since grown and expanded by opening an Early Intervention office in Liberty and G&D Schoolhouse, the 4410 special education school in White Sulphur Springs, NY.
Meet the Founders: Gerri & Liz
Gerri & Liz are the founders and dynamic leaders behind G&D Speech, Occupational, & Physical Therapy Services.
Through their combined experience of over 25 years in the area, they are very aware of the overwhelming need for Early Intervention and Special Ed programs for children in Sullivan County, New York.
They started G&D Speech, Occupational, & Physical Therapy Services when they sat with the question, “How can we get these children the help and services they desperately need?”
In their passion for helping children with special needs thrive, they decided to do something about it, and together, they founded G&D Speech, Occupational, & Physical Therapy Services.
